progress on the porch

Yesterday a few hours were spent on another materials run...more lumber, rock wool insulation for the kneewalls, adhesive foil and caulk for around the windows, and more nails. Lots more nails.

But it was a gorgeous day, and a start was made on installing windows. I'm looking forward to having them all in place so I can adjust my eye to the different view - it's quite a change from the floor-to-ceiling screens.

I think it's going to be nice.

Onward.

    1. She'll miss having the builder here! She's pretty sure he is coming just to see her. I see her point, but I also think she overlooks the significance of those checks I keep writing.

    1. Thanks! A long way to go, but it's exciting to see the windows being fitted into place, one by one. :)

  4. It's going to be dreamy. I always wanted a cottage in the woods.

I do love Miss Piper's little "socks" :-)

    1. A much smaller project than your wonderful renovations, but I'll be thrilled to get it done. Maybe we could do a homeswap holiday, Kath! Wouldn't the dogs be surprised to have different people treating them like old friends :)

  5. This looks so nice! I love the idea of having a closed in porch with windows all around. I see Piper is checking out the window sill height "yep, I can still see out". So cute. Wendy x

  6. This is going to be so fantastic. Oh MAN. Especially with this crazy weather we're having, a cozied-up porch will be so wonderful. It'll be done before you know it (she said confidently).
