Sweetfern, Comptonia peregrina, is neither sweet nor a fern. It looks like something the dinosaurs would have walked through, releasing the warmest, spiciest aromas of imagination.

Betula
I lost Betula, my Birch Boy, at the end of August.
I read your last October post first and this first one last. So sorry for this sad loss followed by your dislocation injury. Physical pain on top of emotional pain. Ohhh. He was such a beauty!
