postcard from the paddocks

Well, we've been having some weather lately.

It's okay.

We don't mind.

We are tough.

Besides, we can go inside anytime we want to!

And in the shelters, we have plenty of food!

But sometimes we'd rather have a picnic in a snowstorm:

It's just Winter.
We've seen it before.
We've dressed for it.

And even if we don't see it for a few days...

we know the sun will come back again!

  1. The snow is pretty, but I *miss* the sun! Soon, maybe? The goats are adorable!

  3. Great pictures! Not surprising considering who took tgem. I think you really have to know your animals to catch those facial expressions. And they clearly know you.

    1. Thanks, Liz - I think with animals, wild or domesticated, it's 95% a matter of taking the time.

  5. Yes, thanks for the visit with the goats. Wonderful photos, all of them. One of these days, could you give us a rundown of who's who in your whole herd?

    Cheers,.

    1. Thanks, Chris, and I probably should do a whole Rogues Gallery someday, if I haven't already. Thanks for the idea.

    1. They do indeed! I felt so sorry for them last "winter" when it never got really cold until the time they would normally begin shedding.

  7. Gorgeous goat photos! I needed this post when I was painting my first goat a while back. Did a winter farm scene with several sheep and a goat. At the last minute I put a little beard on him. Love the photo of Moxie in the snow, too, in the next post.
