Sweetfern, Comptonia peregrina, is neither sweet nor a fern. It looks like something the dinosaurs would have walked through, releasing the warmest, spiciest aromas of imagination.

Beginning of total lunar eclipse, this morning.
The next total lunar eclipse is expected on 14 March 2025.
I wonder what kind of world we'll be living in then?
There are lots of pictures popping up of the eclipse but for once I was sleeping and I wasn't about to interrupt that in order to get up to see it. Sleep is such a rare commodity it seems. I'm afraid to watch the election results from my corner of the world in Canada so I can't even begin to imagine how it is for you.
I was up all night. Ugh. Not planned. Despite deliberately avoiding all the media nonsense until races were actually being called, I think there was a certain amount of background stress in my mind.
Yesterday, today and tomorrow I'm taking a holiday from the news. Helps with the blood pressure. I voted too, having to remind myself that even if way outnumbered, my vote still counts. And because I voted, I get to complain. :-)
I've avoided most of speculative nonsense, and just started checking on called races this afternoon. Still stressful. I think 2016 left permanent scars.
Thank you for leaving a comment! I enjoy reading each one, and will usually reply either here or on YOUR blog!

I didn't expect to see the eclipse but I couldn't sleep so I stepped outside for a moment that turned into an hour.
DeleteI slept through it, and I am so mad at myself! I intended to set the alarm. Ah me.

DeleteI think I caught a glimpse of it through the trees.
ReplyDeleteI have never been interested in politics, but now, it flat out terrifies me.
I hear that!
