the color of january

There's plenty of color in January.
A New England winter may not be as green as other seasons,
but it's beautiful all the same.

  1. There is beauty in all seasons, if we choose to look for it. Mind you, I have to search a little harder in the snow!

    1. I think the best way for you to enjoy snow is through a window! And it may be the same for me, at least on some days ;)

    2. Oh yes, being on the inside looking out is my favourite way to appreciate snow (as we hunker down in expectation of a storm over the weekend).

  2. Yes it is. I like the lichen. I was amazed on a hike early last month how much green clubmoss there was.

  3. We have masses of bittercress all over, lovely green, very welcome. Won't be long till snowdrops. Which reminds me to go out tomorrow and poke about the dead leaves and see if any are starting yet. And I will do my annual witchhazel hunt. I love brave little flowers that bloom in January.
