Sweetfern, Comptonia peregrina, is neither sweet nor a fern. It looks like something the dinosaurs would have walked through, releasing the warmest, spiciest aromas of imagination.

rainy day #4
Chickadee
(It's a start. Sure feels like a long time since DrawingAugust!)
So I guess it was 'a bird ' that came top of your voting list or was it that you couldn't resist that little chickadee flitting about in your garden. It's similar to our blue & great-tits. Lovely sketch, will you paint it or do you just do pencil sketches .
A chickadee - my favourite little bird! I love looking out the window and seeing them at our feeder. Unfortunately I haven't been able to ever get a picture because the minute I step outside they're gone. I know if I was patient and had a tripod I could get some decent pictures, but I'm not known for patience, nor do I have said tripod.
Thank you for leaving a comment! I enjoy reading each one, and will usually reply either here or on YOUR blog!

It's a beautiful start!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so glad you're not disappointed, Tanya - I know you were one of the "bird" votes ;)
DeleteThanks, Sally - I'll bet you get loads of chickadees at your place, too, right?
ReplyDelete"Bird" won! Great sketch of one of my fav birds ;) Just one day of rain left for you now?
ReplyDeleteIt's a great start! I love your chickadee! I hope the rain goes away.
