Sweetfern, Comptonia peregrina, is neither sweet nor a fern. It looks like something the dinosaurs would have walked through, releasing the warmest, spiciest aromas of imagination.
It's the first time in ages I've managed to get a snap of Piper face - she was 20 feet away and I was already taking pictures when she turned for just a second :)
Piper has very easy-care hair - all she needs is a daily brushing. But under that picturesque topcoat she also has a very soft undercoat and although a fraction of their size, Piper sheds more than all my Irish Wolfhounds put together.

I've always been a sucker for a furry face (could be why I married Resident Chef!)
ReplyDeletePiper is gorgeous! Does she take a lot of brushing and grooming? She has the look of a very sensible dog!
