Sweetfern, Comptonia peregrina, is neither sweet nor a fern. It looks like something the dinosaurs would have walked through, releasing the warmest, spiciest aromas of imagination.
Snow, oh no! But the soup looks downright delicious. We're staying home and staying very busy. I've had a few weird heart fluttery things, so the doc is ordering me some meds. Family tradition, this arrhythmia. No fun either, but I've ignored it long enough. Otherwise well, fat and sometimes sassy!
Heavy, wet snow, followed by hours of freezing rain. I went out last night to pull snow off the roundtops to try to keep them from sagging to the point of tearing or collapse. Hazel called to me - from the comfort of the barn - every four seconds the entire time I was out there. I'd like to think she was encouraging me, but it sounded an awful lot like a complaint to management!

More snow here too - more soup for lunch - and more plans for a new project, so staying home quite content. Stay safe, stay well.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are right on top of things now - good for you! :)

DeleteThe snow is pretty! (although we had to drive in some of it). Soup looks good.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty out there right now, but I haven't gone out with a camera yet today. Maybe when I take Piper for a walk.
DeleteSoup!
ReplyDeleteYes!
DeleteMmm, mmm. That snow is pretty and that soup looks good. But what plans?
ReplyDeleteIdeas for the 2020 gardens :) I'm thinking of hanging pots of tuberous begonias along the sides of the portico!
