  2. Ah yes! The leaves are leaving us here too, helped along by the rain yesterday. So beautiful!

    1. Yes, we had a very little rain the night I took the "before" pictures, and gusting winds most of the following day. Leaves were falling like snow and acorns were hitting the roof like a cannonade for hours. I'm glad I took the "before" pictures - those particular maples really lost a lot of leaves!

    1. I just realized that I forgot to reply to your question about the upset bear cub who was separated from his mom and sister. They were reunited!!!! I haven't seen the family on cam in a little while but I promise to update again when I do.

  4. After reading your post, the tree I've been watching has finally gone bare. That windy day was unusually gusty. There's still some foliage color left here.

    1. Loads of glorious colors still here as well, but it's blowing again today after another day of rain. Charging the camera battery now!

  5. So beautiful! I can't view scenes like this without wanting to head into the trees and see where I end up, all the while hearing nothing but the sound of leaves crunching beneath my feet and smelling nothing but those lovely woodsy scents.

  6. Hello Quinn! I've just read back to the bumblebee post and have enjoyed everything you've been sharing here. I just won't be able to comment on absolutely every post (and I'm sure you don't want to revisit old posts a month later!). I wonder if you ever got a bit of cloth made up from one of your paintings or drawings. I remember seeing someone had a watercolour of a feather done by their daughter and made into fabric. It was quite beautiful, and a special surprise to the daughter. I really like the painting you did of the red berries. It's become an autumnal oasis in your area, and it looks like the fierce winds have done the same stripping of leaves as they have here. Just when things are finally colouring up nicely too ... poof! Gone! Loved the shots of your pets (both house and barn). That naughty goat for stealing your art pencils. He has quite a crazed look in his eye. I'm glad you're able to get out with more ease with the use of your walking poles. I've not tried using them before either, although I think my knees will be my trouble as I age. I'll have to keep the poles in mind. How exciting to have options opened up to you again. Well, I'm writing a novel here, so I should wrap it up. It's great to see all that's happening in your life from the goats, the quilts and the horses & sheep! I too love draft horses, and that shot from behind is great. Take care, and I hope I won't be absent so long next time ;)

  7. The sound of wind through leaves and trees is pure music and your photos are eye candy.

  8. We're starting to get a bit of color in the leaves, but I worry that we won't get much since it's been such a hot dry summer. Next month is usually our peak month for it, we'll see!
