Sweetfern, Comptonia peregrina, is neither sweet nor a fern. It looks like something the dinosaurs would have walked through, releasing the warmest, spiciest aromas of imagination.

It looks like you're having a classic late fall day!
ReplyDeleteLooks like everyone is comfy and cozy on a beautiful day.
ReplyDeleteHow peaceful.
ReplyDeleteFor the moment :)
DeleteI recently bought a "goat cart" for our sheep to pull. I think they'd probably rather ride/nap :-D. Great catch!
ReplyDeleteOh I want to hear more about this! I would love to train my big wethers to harness - they could use the work, and I could use the help! - but when I looked into the expense of the harness, etc., a couple of years ago, I had to shelve the idea. There is a woman with a team of immaculate cashmere goats who pull her around in a beautiful little cart at the VT cashmere show - she puts a lot of effort into presentation and it is quite a sight! Please let me know how you do with your sheep :)
DeleteAre they wishing the manger was full? lol
ReplyDeleteHa! If that particular manger was full (again), the big boys would be hustling those does right out of their comfy spot!
DeleteThat first shot is adorable ... "giddyup"
