Sweetfern, Comptonia peregrina, is neither sweet nor a fern. It looks like something the dinosaurs would have walked through, releasing the warmest, spiciest aromas of imagination.
A foot of new snow? Glad it's the end of the season, right? The snow is mostly gone here, but it's been pretty cold. We're expected rain tomorrow. Or snow, depending on the temp. Then we'll have mud. Or ice, ditto. Spring! :)
