browns

There are so many variations on brown.
I love browns.

Like the browns in winter beech leaves.

Or in this daylily seedpod.

Or in this stalk of Chelone obliqua.
Wild-looking, isn't it?
Worth a close look!
~~~
If you'd like to compare,
here is a post with some pictures of Chelone blooming.
And here is a post with the daylilies blooming.
And here: brand-new beech leaves and other mid-May greenery.
Soon - well, pretty soon - green will be everywhere.
I don't mind waiting.
I love the greens, I do.
But I also love the browns.
  2. Hi Quinn, We all enjoy the colors that come at different times of the year. My magnolia tree was so pretty until we got the cold weather. I don't know about your weather, but ours has been crazy. I have enjoyed catching up with you and appreciate your visits. Take care. Happy Easter. Hugs and Prayers from your Missouri Friend Shirley
  3. The last picture looks like some sort of odd creatures, almost snail-like. Cleaning up here after a winter ice storm that caused a bunch of havoc (and continues to in some areas).
    1. You have my sympathy! Ice storms can do so much damage, especially with strong winds during or right after. I hope this is the last real Winter weather for you til December or so!
  4. Nice browns
    The chelone pods resemble snapdragon seed pods.
    1. Interesting - maybe I'll plant some snapdragons this year.
  5. I'm totally old school - hooked on all shades of brown, cream and soft orange - it's everywhere. Walls, floors, furnishings. Everything is of that colour palette...
  7. The daylily empty pod reminds me of a cotton pod. Love the browns, too. Love the chelone pods!!
