Sweetfern, Comptonia peregrina, is neither sweet nor a fern. It looks like something the dinosaurs would have walked through, releasing the warmest, spiciest aromas of imagination.

ReplyDeleteHi Sue! It's Comptonia that I gathered several weeks ago to dry for winter. You can see why the common name is "sweet fern" :)

That's a Buff Orpington hen, but it's not always easy to tell about a chicken..until the first egg appears! :)
