and the winner is

Sorry about the quality of this photograph.
I didn't want to risk taking the scarf out of the bag!
Things happen around here.

Thank you to every reader who entered my little giveaway for the traditional Ethiopian scarf. I enjoyed your varied examples of inspirational people, some very personal and others more publicly-known figures, past and present. And now I have some new inspiring people and books to follow up on - thanks!

There were 24 entries in total. I used the popular and magical Sequence Generator on to find the winner:

I am going to read about Dr Hamlin, she sounds like an amazing lady. Thank you for bringing this work to my attention and offering this beautiful scarf as a gift to one of your Internet friends.

You are very welcome, my internet friend! Please drop me an email with your mailing address, and I will send Piper straight to the Post Office with your package.

Or maybe I'd better drive? The pond is on the way to the Post Office...

...and we wouldn't want any accidents.

Now, Kath, just one more thing...who inspires you?  :)

  1. Ooh, I missed out! That is a beautiful scarf! I'm going to read the entries for the remarks about inspirational people.

    1. Thanks for visiting, Jean! Sorry you missed this drawing, but the inspirational people in the comments are kind of a prize too! And there will be another giveaway soon :)

  2. Yay for Kath! I love the vision of Piper swimming through the pond, holding the precious package up above the water, to get it safely to the post office!

    1. Thank you for that vision of Piper the Hero! :)

  3. Quinn- what a lovely giveaway you just hosted for your friends--the scarf is beautiful.

Piper is adorable-- bet he is full of energy!

You're so kind to stop by and visit- I love you for that. And your words-- you always make me smile.

  4. How exciting, thankyou so much! But I think you should send Piper to England to deliver my scarf, as I would love her to meet her long lost "twin"!

    1. Wouldn't that be a sight - those two side by side?

  5. congratulations to the winner and Piper is such a him, Quinn!

  6. Congrats to Kath! Perhaps Piper could ride along in the car. :) Best wishes, Tammy

    1. Piper is generally under the impression that she is driving the car ;)
