Sweetfern, Comptonia peregrina, is neither sweet nor a fern. It looks like something the dinosaurs would have walked through, releasing the warmest, spiciest aromas of imagination.
LOL! Several times I've found goats with their heads stuck in the fence, after sticking it through then getting trapped by their own horns. And it's not as if there isn't enough to eat inside the fence. But I reckon the flowers and weeds outside the fence must look tastier to them. :)
