Something I've enjoyed and appreciated about twitter over the years, has been the constant stream of images from which to sketch. And the variety of subjects! Pebbles, flowers, the Northern Lights...always something.

Sweetfern, Comptonia peregrina, is neither sweet nor a fern. It looks like something the dinosaurs would have walked through, releasing the warmest, spiciest aromas of imagination.

I love the pleasure you've been getting from your mark making. And how you've used Twitter as an idea source.
ReplyDeleteIt's especially helpful late at night when I suddenly realize I haven't done any markmaking yet that day.
DeleteYou're a brave woman to tackle sketching/painting the northern lights. How I would love to recreate them in fabric for one of my landscapes but I don't think it's possible unless I can find a preprinted fabric. Would be fun though.
ReplyDeleteI was struck by this particular photograph of the Northern Lights because the colors were so different from every other photograph I've seen :)
DeleteNice markings.
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteSo good to see that daily mark-making continues. What a good practice. Hoping you're keeping upright on that snow and ice.
