Sweetfern, Comptonia peregrina, is neither sweet nor a fern. It looks like something the dinosaurs would have walked through, releasing the warmest, spiciest aromas of imagination.
Love the tulips. Funny, that is what I've had in mind for my next watercolor painting! I've been thinking about it for a couple of weeks but can't seem to make a start.
I hope you'll post your painting if you make one. I was thinking of you today...thought I might treat myself to one of those lovely knives you recently offered as a giveaway so I clicked your link. WOW. That treat will have to wait a while! :)
Thank you for leaving a comment! I enjoy reading each one, and will usually reply either here or on YOUR blog!

Those are lovely. Are you going to make markings about them?
ReplyDeletePossibly! I never know til I open the sketchbook, but I've painted their neighbor, the hyacinth, several times.
DeleteGlorious!

DeleteSo pretty. I enjoyed our tulips so much this year, and hope to plant even more for next year.
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen any tulips in bloom here as yet, but there were a few daffs I noticed this morning.
