Sweetfern, Comptonia peregrina, is neither sweet nor a fern. It looks like something the dinosaurs would have walked through, releasing the warmest, spiciest aromas of imagination.
Do you not have wild ones coming to visit? I've never been tempted to have hives because I've heard so many sad stories. Fortunately my area is a hotbed of beekeepers!

The air is literally humming these days, once the air warms up! It's cool in the mornings but the afternoons have been HOT!
