The black goats - especially the solid black goats - are always difficult to photograph.
So I was very pleased to get this portrait of Sambucus today.
Did you notice her lovely little smile?
I think Bui deserves to have an entire blog post, all to herself.

ReplyDeleteOn a related subject do you make elderberry wine? My mom's country generation swore by it. I was out at age two helping my sisters pick elderberries, and learning to identify them. Never got to taste the wine though.
No, the wild birds get the elderberries here :)

ReplyDeleteWell, I'm not sure it's either one! I'm usually at a distance when I get good goat images, and I don't think they know I'm photographing them. And there's a lot of luck involved...for every good goat snap there are probably a couple hundred that are immediately deleted. On the other hand, I always tell them when they've been posted here on the blog, so who knows? Maybe they ARE posing ;)

ReplyDeleteWhen Bui was a baby, pictures of her look like a little plush toy with lifesaver mints for eyes :) I'll see if I can find one of her baby pictures to post.
ReplyDeleteThose are great shots! One of my new kids is solid black and I'm having a heck of a time getting good photos. Of course, with kids, they rarely stand still long enough anyway.
