The tulips I hastily planted in the new raised bed on 15 November 2017 are beginning to appear! Snow predicted tomorrow, then days of rain.
But today: tulips.

Yay!! Don't you just love seeing those little hopeful signs of spring! I see I have some bleeding hearts coming up and they are all in the north shade of the house. Hopefully your snow will melt soon and the rains won't be too heavy.

I'm very excited to see these tulips coming up - the bulbs were a sudden idea and I almost missed the brief opportunity to get them planted between early cold spells!
DeleteA good sign, yes? We also have snow flurries in the forecast, but still the grass is getting greener, the trees are slowly budding...it's coming!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have any grass yet - at least I haven't seen any - this is the very first sign of Spring at ground-level :)

ReplyDeleteYou might consider planting reticulated iris for an even earlier sign of spring than tulips (at least out here in Portland, OR). I'm always thrilled to see them! And they're so small that you probably won't see them until they're blooming, to add to the delight.
