Sweetfern, Comptonia peregrina, is neither sweet nor a fern. It looks like something the dinosaurs would have walked through, releasing the warmest, spiciest aromas of imagination.

morning light
No one values the quality of light more than a photographer.
And cats.
Della gave me this picture for a present this morning.
A perfect gift :) Della may have felt the same way about the roll of paper towels she found on the porch table and turned into a very detailed and multi-layered sculpture...she's been exploring her own artistic side lately!
She really has! Unlike Ms. Piper, whose mysterious avoidance of That Camera continues. I'm beginning to wonder if she is in the Witness Protection Program and living under an assumed identity.
Thank you for leaving a comment! I enjoy reading each one, and will usually reply either here or on YOUR blog!

No creature paints a better picture of contentment than a cat in the sun!
ReplyDeleteAlso true! :)

DeletePretty nice gift! The picture of absolute contentment...so lacking in today's world.

Makes me wanna be there like that right now. ahhh.
ReplyDeleteDella has been very generous lately. There's nothing so sweet as watching the morning light turn a mundane scene into art.

DeleteNeat photo
ReplyDeleteI was doing much the same the other day when the sun was blasting through the patio window. I dragged a chair over and sat there.
Sunlight can be such a gift :)
