a february night

Every time I woke last night, it was still snowing.

Once, I got up and gave Piper and Moxie and Della a snack.
Once, I opened the sliding glass door, leaned out with a broom, and knocked the new snowcap off the sagging birdfeeder.

And once I just stayed in bed and took these pictures.

    1. We are not "expecting" more snow til Wednesday, so I'm hoping tomorrow I will have enough energy after chores to free the Little Green Sportswagon from it's latest drift. Yesterday and today all I could manage was keeping everyone fed and watered and sheltered.

  2. We're getting shrieking high winds, house all cold nd drafty, but no precip. I think it's the edge of the noreaster.

    1. There were gusts all day today - Monday - which was actually good because it meant a lot of snow was blown off branches before it could do damage.

  3. Amazing photos, but too bad the weather is happening. We had snow here yesterday - all day. Had to wade through it to get to the car this morning and remove at least 8" off the top. Wonder if we all got together, stuck our heads out our windows, and yelled 'Enough Already', that maybe winter would decide to give up?

    1. Well, we've had two years of drought here, so I'm actually relieved we are getting a lot of snow this winter. It's exhausting when it's this deep, for sure - as you say, it's "wading." Getting the hay to the goats each day is a challenge.

  4. Well that is what a February night is supposed to be like! I'm sure that all that snow is making life much harder for you but ... it's scary warm and dry here so I'll take your snow any day!

    Lovely photos!
