Sweetfern, Comptonia peregrina, is neither sweet nor a fern. It looks like something the dinosaurs would have walked through, releasing the warmest, spiciest aromas of imagination.

According to the news, yesterday was the Queen's birthday.
Not much left now, Leigh! Just where it melted then refroze, like - unfortunately - in front of the barn. Looks like you're walking on the ground, but it's really a hay-covered, insulated glacier that is slowly melting.
and May 7 is Dave's birthday. love the hijenks...miss my kids and lambs and am thinking of buying a couple of weathers for the LUV factor. gosh, your sweaters are beautiful! mine used to wear thrift store wool sweaters cut to fit.
