It poured all night long, and has been raining off and on all day. So here are two pictures taken earlier this week, adding some cheery color to this gloomy day.
I hope you are having your favorite kind of weather, wherever you are!

Sweetfern, Comptonia peregrina, is neither sweet nor a fern. It looks like something the dinosaurs would have walked through, releasing the warmest, spiciest aromas of imagination.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!!
ReplyDeletesky candy indeed...beautiful photos, Quinn!
ReplyDeleteTruly beautiful. What kind of trees are those? I hope the leaves are still there after the rain so you can keep enjoying them!
ReplyDeleteThe red leaves in the top picture are on a red maple (Acer rubrum) and the bottom picture is a sugar maple (A. saccharum). It hasn't been very windy, so I'm hoping most of the leaves will hang on a good while longer. A lot of trees haven't really begun to turn yet.
DeleteThanks for the comments, Kath and Sandra and "Acorn" - with another solid day and night of rain predicted, I'm really glad I took those pictures when I had the chance!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos Quinn! How is Lily's leg doing?
ReplyDeleteSo far, so good, Lucy! Thanks for asking. :)
