    How about EEK - at least on the hoppers...LOVE the salamander/newt? Don't know which he is...we have geckos here in the desert that look quite a bit like him!

      The little orange critter is an eft; you're right, it's a phase in the lifecycle of a salamander, but I can't tell you which species. They're only a few inches long - quite tiny!

    Quinn, yesterday was a day for critters around here...I caught a grasshopper and turned it outside...one of the cats -TIPPY! caught it and brought it inside. She's a beast for catching stuff and bringing it inside.
    Then, the barn kitten...thought she was going to get well at the barn but, no, so brought her to the house. She's doing a lot better with goat's milk and kitten chow.
    Yes, I AM as exhausted as you...we need a getaway!

      Glad the kitten is doing well! Goat milk can be a useful item to have "on hand"!

      They really are startlingly orange - supposedly warns off predators. I've never seen as many as I have this year...wonder what it means?

    If I showed these images to my almost 15 year old who hates any kind of bug or crawling creature, he would not be so wordless. :) He would be screaming like a little girl. Ha! Best wishes, Tammy

    That lizard is really neat! I've never seen one that color. You do take good close-ups.
