with hobbit feet!

A totally gorgeous day.

Since I could barely move this morning, I filled the stock tank with hot water while I tottered around doing the morning feeding. Then spent hours soaking, listening to Hugh Fraser narrate an Agatha Christie book, and knitting. Feeding Piper treats. Watching Moxie and Della pop up from the ferns than plunge back in with a suddenness that did not bode well for chipmunks or mice.

I'm still in pretty rough shape, but will probably be able to get to sleep tonight, thank goodness. And it certainly was a pleasant way to spend the afternoon.

Hope your weekend was wonderful :)

    1. Aren't the feet funny? I didn't even notice when I was taking the picture, but burst out laughing when I saw it on my screen :)

  2. I wondered if your exertions would need r and r today. And what was the Christie? Love Hugh Fraser narrating. Doing all the voices!

    1. Yes, considering the fact that two hours in a car - or a shopping trip to two stores instead of one - affects me negatively for 3-4 days, I was a singular eejit to spend two hours trying to be something I'm not anymore. I'm on ice right now.
The book is "Ordeal by Innocence" and it's full of "psychology." If High wasn't narrating, I wouldn't have listened past the first chapter!

  4. Yikes. Glad the heat and down-time helped, but hoping that it also imbued a stronger caution against your next inclination to over-do! :)

  5. Beautiful fall weather. Love the socks! I've always had a weakness for stripes. :)

  6. This hot soak in the woods sounds delightful! Well, except for the fact that you've been in a rough state to necessitate it. The socks look so cozy ... soaked striped socks! Perfect. Hope you feel more yourself quickly.

  7. What is the yarn you're using for the socks? Inquiring knitting minds want to know...

    1. It's Signature 4-Ply by West Yorkshire Spinners. This is Pheasant, one of the Birds series. I love almost all of the color combinations, I suppose because they actually DO remind me of the birds they are named for! For a long time it was only available from the UK, which meant rather expensive shipping, unfortunately, so I waited. Then Jimmy Bean's began carrying some of the colors, so I bought this one and Mallard. If the socks hold up well this winter, I may order more birds :)

  8. How I wish I could have a soak like that - my idea of heaven. However, the leaves are doing their fall 'thing' and my allergies are 'thinging' along. Sigh.

    1. Oh gosh, me too. I've been taking benadryl every night but I can't take it during the day or I'd fall asleep, so there have been a lot of sinus headaches and gritty eyes.

    2. I take two different kinds of meds - a 24 hour allergy medication and then I top it up with benadryl as I need it. Nasal spray....eye drops....you name it and I do it!
